1996 Atlanta Summer Olympic Games

TWI acted as television advisor and consultant to the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympic Games, the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympic Games, the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympic Games and the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympic Games. It has been retained in a similar role for the Atlanta Summer Olympic Games this year and the Nagano Winter Olympic Games in 1998. TWI also recently completed production of The Olympic Century - three television specials sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee that celebrate the first 100 years of the modern Olympic movement.

The Whitbread Round The World Race

TWI coordinates the international production and distribution of The Whitbread Round The World Race. The 1997-98 race will start from Southampton in September 1997. The fleet is expected to return to Southampton in May 1998. There will be nine legs visiting seven countries.

This is the first time the event has staged nine legs and the first time that the ports of Baltimore/Annapolis, in the USA, Sao Sebastiao in Brazil and La Rochelle, in France, have been visited. It is also the first time since the 1985-86 race that South Africa has hosted a stopover port. The approximate total mileage for the circumnavigation is 31,600 nautical miles.

The FedEx Orange Bowl

TWI successfully negotiated a position for the Orange Bowl in the new college football alliance championship rotation. In an effort to have the best college teams play head-to head in premiere Bowl match-ups, the major college football conferences selected only three Bowls to be part of the rotation. The Orange Bowl joins the Sugar Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl in this new six-year plan. TWI also successfully renegotiated a six-year extension of FedEx as the Orange Bowl's title sponsor.

The America's Cup

The Kiwi's won the Cup. But now Paul Cayard and St. Francis Yacht Club are mounting a fierce challenge to recapture the America's Cup for America.
